Imagine your subconscious, that part of your brain that holds and stores everything is a computer, running 100s of thousands of programmes all at once keeping us moving and living, and like a computer your minds can have outdated software running, it can pick up viruses that slow down your performance or even make us crash.
HYPNOSIS THAT YOU EXPERIENCE IN EVERYDAY LIFE
Hypnosis is a natural, a familiar state. We all move in and out of the hypnotic state all day long. Sometimes we go into this state when we’re driving, watching TV, listening to music, reading a good book or working on a project that we’re passionate about.
Hypnosis is the state from which you can make extremely powerful changes in your life because it is the state in which you are the most receptive, creative, and intuitive.
Some people can enter into hypnosis more quickly than others, and everyone can improve his or her ability to reach the hypnotic state through practice. A lot of people think they can’t be hypnotised, but they can. Everyone can be hypnotised. Hypnosis is more similar to daydreaming than it is to sleep. Although, if you do fall asleep during hypnosis, the suggestions are still absorbed.
Hypnotherapy works because when we are relaxed and feeling safe we become open to suggestion, that’s it.
Hypnosis is a process that produces increased awareness of the unconscious mind, heightened sense of suggestibility, and deep relaxation to access the subconscious mind without resistance. This allows for brain wave state shifts to take place to promote wellness and recovery. Hypnotherapy does not access willpower but has the amazing ability to utilise the power of imagination and effect a change in reality by accessing the subconscious mind.
BUT WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. All of the transformation you experience as a result of a session is because of what you have done. The power always lies within you.
There is this sense of distance from where you are, the passage of time gets distorted and often you feel a pleasant, almost euphoric state of peace. The depth of a hypnotic trance varies, it can be very light or extremely deep. ... Hypnosis does feel very nice and relaxing, almost like taking a nap.The way people typically describe the feeling of being hypnotized, during hypnotherapy, is to be in a calm, physically, and mentally relaxed state, in which they are able to focus deeply on what they are thinking about. ... That said, there is no right way to feel when undergoing hypnosis.
People are sometimes concerned that they will “lose control” in hypnosis. However, general consensus indicates that regardless of how deeply people may go in hypnosis and however passive they may appear to be, they actually remain in full control of the situation. They are fully able to talk if they wish to (or not, as the case may be) and can stand up and leave the room at any time. Neither can a hypnotised person be made to do anything against their usual ethical or moral judgement or religious belief.
